THE BEGINNING OF OUR HOME ED ADVENTURE
Today is the boys' last day of school. Tomorrow we will begin our adventures in home education. I am so excited, nervous, hopeful. The boys are excited too, though they will miss things like riding on the bumpy bus (where C lost his tooth when they went over a big hill and he smacked his face down on the seat ahead of him), running like mad men with their friends at recess, and the girls.
We are going to be using a unit study approach, studying one topic for an extensive period of time. We will be covering units in; Thanksgiving, Texas, Winter, Medieval Times, Greek Mythology, Aviation, Soccer, and Crops. For math we will using Math-U-See, which I believe will be effective in really giving the boys a clear understanding of the concepts that they need to know. I have so much that I want them to learn and experience and I can't wait to start!
